Federal Judge for Civil and Commercial Matters in Argentina's Capital Federal
Dr. Patricio Marianello holds a Doctorate in Law from the Facultad de Derecho (School of Law) of the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA), with an outstanding grade of Summa Cum Laude, and has built a distinguished career in the judicial, academic and constitutional spheres at both the national and international levels. He currently serves as Federal Judge for Civil and Commercial Matters in the Capital Federal, a post obtained through competitive examination and review of credentials, under Presidential Decree No. 761/17. He is also President of the Asociación Mundial de Justicia Constitucional (World Association of Constitutional Justice), 2023, and of the Asociación Argentina de Justicia Constitucional (Argentine Association of Constitutional Justice), consolidating his leadership in the most significant legal debates of our time. In recognition of his outstanding work, he was declared Personalidad Destacada de las Ciencias Jurídicas (Distinguished Figure in the Legal Sciences) by the Poder Legislativo de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires (Legislature of the City of Buenos Aires) through Declaration No. 2/2021. He has also received numerous honorary distinctions, notably the following: International Honoris Causa doctorates conferred by academic institutions in Mexico, Costa Rica and Latin America, including the Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila, the Universidad Americana de Acapulco and the Academia Internacional de Ciencias Jurídicas, Legislación y Jurisprudencia de México (International Academy of Legal Sciences, Legislation and Jurisprudence of Mexico), in 2023. Honorary Member of Rosalind de London Journals Press (United Kingdom), with identification number IS25156. Decorations such as the Cruz de la Legión de Honor Aragonesa (Cross of the Aragonese Legion of Honor) and the Medalla Honorífica “Libertadores de la Patria” (“Liberators of the Homeland” Medal of Honor), awarded in 2023. In the academic sphere, he was a Visiting Professor at American University Washington College of Law (United States) in 2023 and was named Distinguished Professor by the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Peru in 2009, the oldest university in the Americas. His career combines legal excellence, institutional commitment and a sustained international profile, positioning him as one of the most influential figures in contemporary constitutionalism.
