Vanessa De Paul Castro Mora

Vanessa de Paul Castro Mora is a Costa Rican lawyer and notary with a law degree from the Universidad de Costa Rica and a distinguished professional, political and academic career. She currently serves as a legislator in the Asamblea Legislativa de Costa Rica (Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica), a position from which she advances initiatives on telecommunications, public policy, citizens' rights and institutional strengthening. She is a founding partner of the law firm CVC Abogados, where she has practiced since 1987, and a recognized consultant on the regulation and administration of telecommunications markets, with more than two decades of experience in the sector. She has served on the Comisión Mixta de Televisión Digital (Joint Commission on Digital Television) and coordinates the committees on Móviles (mobile telephony) and Capacitación (training) within the Cámara de Infocomunicaciones (Chamber of Infocommunications). In her academic career, she has taught at university level since 2002 and was director of the law program at the Universidad Internacional de las Américas from 2014 to 2021. Over the course of her public life she has held a range of positions, among them municipal councilor, legislator (1998–2002) and vice president of the Partido Unidad Social Cristiana (PUSC), and she has been an active member of forums such as the Foro de Mujeres Políticas (Women in Politics Forum) and the Parlamento Cultural Intercontinental (Intercontinental Cultural Parliament). Recognized as one of the most influential voices at the meeting point of law, technology and politics, Vanessa Castro combines legal experience, political leadership and strategic vision in the service of Costa Rica's democratic development.
